Song brocade (Song Jin) is a celebrated Chinese silk, revered as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. This collection uses the “Yu Xi Yu Xi” pattern from the master weavers at Shangjiukai.
The name itself is a beautiful and famous play on words. In fact, “Yu” (鱼, fish) is a homophone for “Yu” (余, surplus/abundance). “Xi” (嬉, play) also sounds just like “Xi” (喜, joy). Therefore, the “Joyful Fish” (鱼嬉) motif is one of the most powerful and traditional symbols for a life filled with endless joy, wealth, and good fortune.
