Song brocade (Song Jin) is one of China’s most revered silks, celebrated as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. In fact, the fabric used for this scrunchie is designed by the renowned artisan Li Dexi.

The pattern’s name is “Qū Shuǐ Méi Huā” (曲水梅花), or “Winding Stream & Plum Blossom.” This is a profoundly poetic and elegant combination.

“Qū Shuǐ” (曲水 – Winding Stream): This refers to the “Winding Stream Party” (曲水流觞), an ancient, elegant gathering where poets sat by a stream, composed verses, and floated cups of wine. Therefore, it is a powerful symbol of creativity, refined taste, and the smooth “flow” of good fortune.
